The primary goals are to (a) raise one penny per day per person, and (b) inspire one minute of kindness per day per person. Our site gives everyone a free way to raise this money for their favorite charity and gives daily ideas and quotes on how to live inspired. The simple 30 seconds to change your homepage to SmallAct.com makes this possible.
Our simple goal is to raise one penny per person per day ($3.65 per year), which means a potential of over 1 Billion dollars per year for charity in the US. By signing up and simply making SmallAct.com your homepage, you have the opportunity to reach that penny per day goal to help your favorite charity, and importantly, get there without having to spend any of your own money! We have worked with our advertisers and sponsors to make all of this possible.
Most people don't realize, but their homepage is currently earning money (and a huge amount at that) for the company who owns it. Instead, we are giving everyone a chance to use their homepage to help the charity they care about most.
Just like all things 'Internet', Small Act Network is powered by advertising. The difference, however, is that we use this advertising revenue to help support what is important to each user in our network. When users register, they pick the charity or charities that they want their "penny a day" to go to. We use these choices to redistribute the advertising money.
None at all! Our goal is to provide free ways to earn money for your favorite charities and help those in desperate need of a helping hand. We will continue to offer more and more ways to earn money for your charities. Click here to look at how you can get started helping and living an inspired life.
For companies, we are offering a free service to give them a chance to kick start their Corporate Social Responsibility Programs. This is an outstanding way to bring co-workers together to both help those in need and also build stronger and more meaningful relationships within the team. Click here for more information.
Every year, we will be working with an outside accounting practice to verify that we are living up to the promises that we are extending to all of you. This year we will be working with Delloite, who will be conducting the audit.
Just like most things 'Internet', SmallAct.com is powered by advertising. The difference us and most advertising-based companies is that we help support what is important to each individual in our network.
When we started we worked toward becoming a nonprofit, but because we were actually dealing in commercial business our lawyers told us that we would not qualify as a nonprofit - specifically because the majority of our income (advertising) would not be coming from donations from individuals. Since our goal was to actually get NO money from individuals there was no straightforward way to become a nonprofit. Instead we formed a Limited Liability Company to maximize the amount of donations we could give to the charities. We are also looking into the new corporate structure of L3C, which was designed for for-profit companies with a non-profit soul. Currently this is only available in a limited number of states, but we will be looking into this as soon as it is more widely accredited.
To add a charity to our list of available choices, please click here and fill out our form. All charities on our list must be based in the US, and either 501(c)3 nonprofit or school or scholastic program providing public education or training in sports, arts or specific trades.
In the near future we will be unveiling additional ways for you to earn even more for your favorite charity - for example taking a survey or enrolling in the free trial of a product or service. Please check back soon.
No. We do not provide or promote any incentives for searching or clicking on any of the advertisements. We are providing a service where the benefit is the same as if you went to the search provider directly and were able to quickly find the information you seek. It is very important that we are providing an honest service that strikes the proper balance between users, service providers and advertisers. Furthermore honesty is so paramount to our business and what we stand for that any detection of fraudulent clicking could result in the complete disqualification and de-listing of any charities involved.
